As part of our celebrations topic, this week we have been learning all about Thanksgiving. We have made turkeys and written something that we are thankful for, and the Explorers have created some very thoughtful work. The children found out how American people across the world celebrate this happy festival. Each child in Explorers thought of something they were thankful for and wrote this onto an Autumn leaf, using their phonic knowledge!
Below is the link to the video clip that we have watched to help us to learn about Thanksgiving
After watching the clip can you remember who helped the pilgrims to plant their seeds? What time of year do people celebrate Thanksgiving?
Good luck, once you have had a look and found the answers don't forget to come and tell me. Perhaps you could draw a picture of the story of Thanksgiving.
Have a lovely weekend and see you next week as we begin to learn all about Christmas and Hanukkah, as well as starting rehearsals for our school Nativity!!
Have a lovely weekend!
