Forest Schools Plant Carrots

14 Apr 2016

Year 2 are experiencing their first Forest Schools Lessons in our outdoor classroom this term. In groups of 15 our Forest Schools tutor Simon gave everyone an introduction to Forest Schools and children settled down on their tree stump seats to take part in preparing their custom lolly sticks to put next to their planted carrots.  Each child planted and some watered, whilst everyone else discussed how long it would take the carrots to grow and what their favourite vegetables were. Everyone relaxed into the outdoors activities and especially enjoyed the hot chocolate afterwards!

We are a qualified Lambeth Forest Schools & Natural Thinkers School, which means that we provide a natural setting where students can learn about growing your own and lots more! Forest schools learning has been proven to be beneficial for many things including risk taking which helps build good self-esteem.
